Very excited to announce that I'll be directing Lot 47 by Christina Lepri at Mudlark Theater Company this June. This show is a brand-new, site-specific piece, that looks at spaces young people inhabit away from the watchful eyes of adults. We've got a great cast in place, can't wait to get back into the rehearsal space! Check it out at: http://www.mudlarktheater.org/showswww.mudlarktheater.org/shows

Honored to be included as one of the newest Board of Directors for the American Alliance for Theatre & Education! Though the conference will sadly be online this year, I'm excited to virtually roll up my sleeves and get down to business.
I want to give a shout out to the cast and crew of The Agency Theatre Collective's production of "Hellcab." The show opens tonight and I have had the honor and enjoyment of getting to stage the fights and intimacy for the second year in a row; all that action in the space of a cramped backseat of a cab. Bravo, team! We've worked hard. Performances run through December 30th at the Ravens Theater on Clark St. up in Edgewater. It's a snappy 90 minute show with many talented actors. Bonus: there's a parking lot for patrons... :) Very excited to have a show in the Chicago Fringe Festival this year! Romeo, Juliet, et al is a fast-paced 50 minute version of the Shakespeare classic, performed by three actors. The play is directed by Wyatt Kent and stars an all-female Chicago-based cast: Ashley Fox, Tess Galbiati and Kirstie Smith. Getting to do fights with these ladies was a dream! Performances run Labor Day weekend: Friday 8/31 @ 8:30 p.m. Saturday 9/1 @ 4:00 p.m. Sunday 9/2 @ 7:00 p.m. Monday 9/3 @ 2:30 p.m. For tickets click here. Hope to see you all at the Fringe! Heading to Minneapolis for the AATE (American Alliance for Theatre Educators) conference? Look for me there! I'm honored to be presenting with Daniel Bird Tobin and Wyatt Kent on a panel discussing strategies for directing immersive theatre and site-specific work. Both of my fellow presenters are experienced directors and professors, I'm excited by the work they're doing. We're presenting Friday at 2 pm, and I can't wait to be back in my hometown sharing my work. The Agency Collective's production of Hellcab opens this weekend at the Den Theatre. This has been such a fun process to have been a part of - I'm proud to claim Hellcab as my theatre debut in Chicago! Such a dedicated team, all of whom are not only great creative individuals, but have gone out of their way to make me feel welcomed.
So proud to get to show this off soon. Tickets are pay-what-you-can, but seating is limited. Get yours today! So much travel this fall! I just got back from a very successful production of The Princess Bride in Madison, WI, and now am starting to get prepped for an unarmed (hand-to-hand) one-day workshop at the Lawrence Arts Center in Lawrence, KS. Very excited for this new partnership! Space is limited so sign up now! Details for registration can be found here: https://ada.lawrenceartscenter.org/classes/FA-AYZ046. This weekend I'm heading up to Madison, WI to choreograph fights for The Princess Bride at First Act Children's Theatre. Pretty sure this is every fight director's dream! Couple of duels (including an ambidextrous one), witty banter, and some ROUSes; looks be a good time.
Happy to announce I'll be serving as fight/intimacy director The Agency Theatre Collective's upcoming production of "Hellcab" by Will Kern. We just had our first read-through today, and there are a lot of good people in the room. Choreographing violence and intimacy that all takes place in a car should prove to be a fun challenge. Super excited to get to work. |
